Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
The Minnesota
Career Development Association sponsors two Special Interest Groups (SIGs):
- Organizational
Career Development, led by Leslie
Philmon of Opus Corporation (952-656-4638 or
leslie.philmon@opuscorp.com)
and Tom Bodin of OI Partners
(952-525-1475 ext 201 or tbodin@oipartners.net). The Organizational
Career Development SIG — a collaboration with the Twin
Cities Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development
(ASTD) — discusses topics related to career planning practitioners
and ways to provide career planning resources to employees of organizations.
They meet over breakfast on the third Friday of every month (except
December) from 8-9:30 a.m. at the Double
Tree Hotel, in the Dover Restaurant (1500 Park Place, St. Louis
Park). Be sure to check out the Organizational Career Development SIG's
upcoming events.
- Northland
Career Development Professionals Association, led by Marie
Carter Brooks (m.brooks@lsc.edu). The purpose of the Northland Career
Development Professionals Association is to facilitate networking and
support among Northland area career professionals. The group holds a
two-hour meeting every other month at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Duluth.
Be sure to check out the NCDPA's upcoming events.
There's room
for many more SIGs! If you are interested in starting a SIG, please contact
MCDA President Nancy White (npwhite@comcast.net).
