The first goal of this workshop is to share a model of personality, based in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, that will help inform your clients’ approach to career exploration. The second goal is to offer strategies for attacking the informational interview process tailored to your clients’ personality preferences. The hope is that by helping clients become more aware of their preferences - their style of interacting, making decisions, gathering information, and structuring their environment - they will be able to ask better questions and receive needed feedback in their quest to discover the career path that uniquely suits them.

  • Outline a model of personality preferences
  • Illuminate the effects of personality preferences on career selection and satisfaction
  • Increase appreciation for the range of useful and worthwhile approaches to the career decision-making process
  • Offer an approach to informational interviewing that flows from and is respectful of personal style and individual differences
